Step Up to Courageous Action

We pause to get our mind right so we can STEP UP when it matters. You act with Discipline and react on Default. There will be many opportunities for you to step up. Stay focused on you and how you manage E+R=O. Control your 20 sq. ft (a made-up number that represents you and your area of control). Stepping up is an act of courage. You know what your strengths and weaknesses are, so use the moment to act with courage and step up.


Win the Moment

  2. Everyday
  3. Predictable Things
  4. Adversity

Right Now

Be disciplined in the moment. Win the moment – the next minute. Own the response with discipline in the next minute. Remember, outcomes are earned by the quality of our response.


Everyday

Step up constantly and do it day after day after day. Do it in segments. Break down large tasks into chunks. Have a disciplined morning; do not worry about the things you have to do after lunch. Be disciplined for the next 2 hours. Handle first things first.


The Predictable Things

So much about sports, teaching, and running a business is predictable. Predict the Events.
Good/Bad/Indifferent. Positive/Negative. Coaches/Teachers often respond on default to the same predictable events they have always experienced. Then they BCD about experiencing them. BCD is 100% useless! Your athletes/students/employees are predictable. They will resist and ignore teaching/coaching. Have a preplanned disciplined response. Preplan a discipline. DO NOT stay with default responses to predictable events.


Train for Adversity

Adversity is subjective and unique to each of us. Bad E + Default R = Not Good O.
No one performs better under pressure. When adversity hits, you will go to the level of your training.
Train average – Perform average, Train elite – Perform elite.
