How Can I Get Better Today?
The answer – Grow Your Confidence.
“Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” – Philippians 4:8
Confidence is firmly rooted in who we are as a person and what we are working to become as a
human. Confidence is a choice and we must choose it daily. Confidence, just like awareness and
motivation are trainable skills. Just like your biceps, if you work them out they will grow, so will your
confidence.
Not being able to control negative thoughts and emotions can cause serious issues to your confidence.
Think about this: We have 60-70k thoughts a day, these thoughts turn into emotions which lead to
physiological responses that help deliver results. If we can not learn to control our thoughts and
emotions our confidence will be all over the place. If we choose to talk to ourselves more than listen to
ourselves we can have a confidence that does not waver.
You have heard the story of the 2 brothers whose father was an alcoholic. One brother said, I am an
alcoholic because my dad is an alcoholic. The other brother said, I am a successful human who never
touches alcohol because my dad was an alcoholic. It’s all about how we train our thoughts and
emotions. Talk to yourself twice as much as you listen to yourself.
Keep your mindset positively directed, purpose driven, and mission focused.
5 Keys to Confidence
1) Past Performances – the ability to learn from them
2) Preparation – Be fully prepared
3) Self-Talk – Be good to yourself. Speaking positive words makes it 10x more likely to happen.
Spoken negative words makes them 40-70x more likely to happen.
4) Body Language – Our posture and movement had a big impact on our brain. Our brain is always
listening.
5) Support System – Surround yourself with positive people. Positivity is contagious, so is
negativity.
Homework – Write 3-5 positive affirmations and speak them out loud daily. It works!
