How Can I Get 1% Better Today?
The answer – Pray.
“Pray continually” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17
To be honest, I have struggled with this in the past. When times are great, I sometimes forget to
pray. When times are bad, I always remember to pray and ask God to help me/us! I know this is
not how it is supposed to work. We should pray continually for God to work in our lives and pray
continually to thank God for the many blessings in our lives. We should pray through the bad
and the good things.
Establishing a habit to pray is rather easy to do when you understand how to develop a habit.
Developing a que, whether its first thing in the morning, last thing in the evening or whenever
you choose to develop the habit of praying, tying it to something else will help develop the habit.
Stephanie and I’s new habit of walking has given us a new opportunity to pray together daily.
Toward the end of our walk, we will pause whatever we are listening to and pray together, out
loud with each other. At this time we are thanking God for all our blessings and try to be as
specific as possible as well as pray for anyone we know who needs a blessing. It’s a habit. It
has brought us closer to each other but also closer to God. We pray on good days and bad
days. God never promised everything would be wonderful. With prayer, life can become much
more doable through the bad times. Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good.”
Whenever you decide to pray, make it a habit. Do it daily. You will be rewarded with more peace
in your life, regardless of what you are going through. With God all things are better.
