How Can I Get 1% Better Today?

The answer – Be More Like A Bird.

60% of adults struggle with worry/stress on a daily basis. 91% of the time, the stuff we
worry about never comes true. Reread that last statement… 91% of the time, the stuff
we worry about does not actually happen
. Think about the things you have worried
about in this past week and now think about the fact that a large majority of them will
never come true. Sounds like a lot of wasted worry to me.

Jesus tells us, do not worry. In Matthew 6 he tells us five things to not worry about: 1)
Finances 2) Fitness 3) Food 4) Fortune 5) Fashion. And then in verse 26 he says look
at the birds. The birds don’t worry. They fly around, hang out with their friends and
when they get hungry they swoop down and get a big juicy worm to eat. They then
build a nest and take a nap. The Lord provides everything they need. Birds just do not
worry, they know they will be able to get what they need.

Worry does not make us better, it makes us worse. Worry in a sense is saying, we do
not trust God. Do we need to trust him more?

Always remember, things you worry about
1) May never happen
2) May happen and not even be as bad as you thought
3) May happen and be bad but give God the opportunity to carry you through it

Instead of worry, let’s put God first and go to work!
